DEBIT CARD PIN BASED TRANSACTIONS
For Your Security
Cases of fraud and counterfeit transactions are becoming a serious issue. To combat this illegal activity and protect our customers, we are encouraging our customers to use a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to complete transactions, for all Visa® checkcard transactions, at certain types of merchants. This safeguard will not eliminate fraudulent activity but we feel it will significantly reduce it.
Examples of merchants that it will be helpful to use your PIN are:
Department stores Discount stores Grocery stores Convenience stores
When making purchases at these four types of merchants, remembering to use your PIN to complete the transaction, will provide you an extra security feature, as long as you do not share your PIN, do not write it on the back of the card, and do not write it in any place that is easily accessible if your card information is compromised.
At this time, all International based transactions require PIN usage. Please let us know when you will be traveling out of the area. This will be helpful to us in monitoring your account for suspicious activity. Also, verify that we have your up-to-date telephone contact information. We will use this number(s) to contact you should we suspect fraudulent activity.
